Ilac takes first at divisionals for RHS

RONAN – Nine Ronan High School speech and debate students are moving on to this weekend’s state tournament in Corvallis after their efforts paid off at the Class A Divisional tournament, held at Ronan High on Saturday. 

Senior Kelea Ilac took first place in Impromptu Speaking. She also won fourth place in Dramatic Interpretation of Literature.

Senior Trevor Blackburn took fifth in Impromptu and 10th in Humorous Interpretation.

Senior Jaylyn Hakes took ninth in Humorous Interpretation of Literature.

Junior Jamison Romero took fifth place in Humorous Interpretation of Literature and 12th in Dramatic Interpretation of Literature.

Junior Kara Holmlund took fifth in Memorized Public Address and eighth in Extemporaneous. 

Junior Aurrora Watkins placed seventh in Memorized Public Address. 

Sophomore d’Artagnan Dominguez took fourth in Lincoln Douglas Debate.

The junior-freshman team of Darius Ramsey and Jeremiah Howard took 12th in Humorous Duo Acting.

Freshman Taylor Jackson will go to state as first alternate in Informative Speaking, and freshman Sariel Sandoval will go to state as the first alternate in Expository Speaking.
