Art Camp offered for two age groups

POLSON — Rachel Edington and her 14-year old daughter Lexie are hosting an Art Camp this summer. Kids participating in the Art Camp July 9-12 will have the opportunity to learn about famous artists like Picasso, Van Gogh, and O’Keefe, as well as learn a variety of mediums, from paint, watercolor, mixed media, and clay. The cost is $100. There will be a class for ages 6-8 in the mornings and a class in the afternoons for ages 9-12. Lexie has created most of the projects and together she and her mother have put together a lesson plan. It will be a fun week.

Lexi is raising money for her fine arts competition Nationals in Houston, Texas. Competitors are responsible for raising $1200 each and raising money for a parent to go with them. This year she got a superior with an invitation to Nationals with her piano piece. At Nationals she will compete in her invitational category and then take classes to grow and deepen her skills, character, and more. It’s a five day convention.

Students interested in taking Lexi’s Art Camp can call her to sign up at 406-833-0016 or email me, Rachel (aka mom), at: rcedington0355@gmail.com.

Lexi and other competitors will also be raising money at a community car wash in July.
