ST. IGNATIUS

St. Ignatius Mission Church St.

Ignatius Mission Church winter hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. The Church is known for its murals, which were damaged when a 100-year-old support beam cracked. Repair and restoration on the murals began mid-July and continues through mid-November. Scaffolding is moved as the work progresses in the balcony and on the left side altar (Blessed Virgin side). The gift shop in the original Jesuit log cabin is closed for the winter. The repairs to the Sister of Providence home will be completed shortly, and it will remain open during the winter.

POLSON

Miracle of America Museum

The Miracle of America Museum has had visitors from all 50 states, 50 different countries and seven Canadian provinces so far this year. Items from the museum collection have been loaned to the Port Polson Players for two different productions. Recent additions include rare guns to the WWI and WWII military displays, the photo shop and the cherry industry display. Various restoration projects are in the works if any volunteer-minded persons would like to inquire to see if they match their interest or expertise. Watch for a museum fundraising yard sale to be held next door at Mangel’s Machine Works, soon.

Polson Flathead Historical Museum

Although we are now closed for the winter, we had a very successful year with visitors from across the USA, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Japan, Sweden, United Kingdom and more. We look forward to seeing you when we reopen in 2019 on May 15.
