POLSON – Aleysia Black attempts to snag a pass for a touchdown as Shane Perry and Jeff Ward look on during a Thanksgiving Day flag-football game at the Linderman Elementary field. Perry, Ward and George Murphy were organizers of the good-natured matchup between more than 20 of their family and friends. According to Perry, the game is a tradition that he and Ward used to participate in but haven’t enjoyed in quite a while. The two teams wore red or yellow flags and played on a short field. Orange cones marked the boundaries. As the game wound down, there were a lot of hugs, smiles and laughter as the winded players left the field.
