News from the City of Polson
POLSON – All Polson city issued dog licenses expire every year on Dec. 31. Dog licensing is required and ensures rabies vaccination, which protects the health of your pet and others. Additionally, licensed dogs when found at large are able to be returned to their owners more quickly.
Please come into City Hall, located at 106 1st Street E, to license your dog at your earliest convenience. For any dog that remains unregistered after Feb. 15, the owner may be cited for having an unlicensed dog and will be subject to a late fee.
Per city ordinance, owners of a dog aged six months or more shall obtain a license. A dog license will not be issued until the owner has provided proof that the dog has been immunized against rabies in accordance with current city ordinance (sec. 13.02.020, Polson Municipal Code).
To re-license your dog, owners may come into the City Hall during our business hours Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please bring in a current rabies certificate and proof of alteration.
The current dog license fees are $5 for neutered or spayed dogs and $15 for unaltered dogs
