RONAN — Commander Sharbono was asked if he had any use for an old plaque or it was going to be thrown out. Commander Sharbono took the plaque and refurbished it. He then contacted fellow Legionnaire Lucky Larson about having some plates made with the names of the comrades transferred to “post everlasting” along with their branch of service, war era and the year they were lost. It was then that this became a special task for Lucky Larson. Lucky is a Coast Guard veteran and former Lake County sheriff and is currently the athletics director for the Ronan High School. With great care and attention to detail, Lucky made all the name plates and the large heading plate that denoted they were the Legionnaires of Ronan Post No. 138 who had transferred on to post everlasting. Lucky’s brother, Steven Larson, a Vietnam veteran, is the most recent name added to the list. On behalf of myself and Ronan Post 138 is thankful for his generous donation and time. Lucky was also presented a certificate of appreciation.
