News from the Polson Police Department

POLSON – Your Polson Police Department works daily to inspire confidence in all to make Polson a safe and pleasant place to live, work, learn and play. To optimize our concept for success, we are committed to a partnership with members and guests of our community. That is why it is with great pleasure that we announce the generous donations from two of our long-time partnerships: Whitefish Credit Union and the Polson Shooters Association. The Whitefish Credit Union and the Polson Shooters Association have graciously donated $750 each. The $1,500 will be used to pay for the tuition for two patrol officers to attend Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) School at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy this summer.

This advanced training will improve upon our agency’s ability to resolve critical incidents involving a threat to public safety, which would otherwise exceed the capabilities of traditional law enforcement.

The Whitefish Credit Union and Polson Shooters Association both recognize the need for a professional law enforcement team in their community that is dedicated to public safety readiness.

“Both of these organizations share our core values of trustworthiness, community focus and continuous improvement. Like us they believe that the key to a harmonious Polson is through a policing approach that focuses on and promotes community and police partnerships. I sincerely thank you for your generous community support,” said Chief of Police Wade Nash.
