News from Providence St. Joseph Medical Center

POLSON – Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, Polson recently completed a helipad replacement project. The project began on Oct. 7 and ended on Halloween. The project investment was $26,000. The new heated helipad and adjacent sidewalks south of the hospital building replace a cracked and heaved former pad.

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center facilities chief Wade Reed explained the reason for the replacement, “Our number one priority is patient safety. The previous pad presented a hazard to both patients and air ambulance crews. We decided to install a heated pad and adjacent sidewalks to help prevent snow and ice buildup and to reduce the use of ice melting products.”

Contractors on the project included Morigeau Landscape and Excavation of Polson and Tubb Concrete of Ronan.
