RONAN - Mission’s defending Class B-C state singles champion Spencer Ahlborn led his boys’ tennis team to a 6-0 win over Ronan on Tuesday. The Maidens took a 6-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Ahlborn defeated Ronan No. 1 Hunter Shima in the singles match, 6-2, 6-0. Mission won all matches, to sweep Ronan. The only set dropped was when Kyle Schock lost 3-6 to Payton Adams. Schock went on to win 6-0, 6-0.
The Ronan girls responded with a 6-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs. The only match lost was in the No. 1 singles match, where Mission’s Sarah Bowers defeated Ronan’s Jess Benedetti, 6-4, 6-2. All of the other matches were won by Ronan.
