News from the Community Thanksgiving Dinner organizers
POLSON – For the 20th anniversary of the Polson Community Thanksgiving Dinner, lots of changes are being introduced to provide the community with a delicious, scratch-made dinner free of charge to any who would enjoy it.
This year, all meals will be either curbside pick up or delivered from the Mission Valley Elks Lodge at 512 Main Street, Polson. The number to call is 406-250-7902, which is a dedicated phone number for texts or calls to leave a name, phone number, address and number of meals needed. Tracy Plaiss, coordinator of the dinner for the past 15 years, would like to stress that calling early will be a huge help. “We know that this year has been challenging for so many in our community, so we want to make certain we prepare enough meals for every person who wants one,” she said. “Calling us early so we don’t run out of pie, or anything else, will make life easier for all of us.”
Due to COVID-19 protocols this year, donations of food cannot be accepted from the community churches as they have in the past. “This certainly adds to the list of things to be prepared by our volunteer staff this year, but your Mission Valley Elks Board of Directors did not hesitate to unanimously step up to meet this challenge, for that we are grateful.”
Pick up and delivery will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, at the Elks Lodge in Polson. Reserve your dinner early by calling 406-250-7902.
