Gianforte asks Montanans to ‘Serve Montana’

BOZEMAN — Governor-elect Greg Gianforte today called on well-qualified, dedicated innovators to serve Montana and help lead Montana’s comeback.

Gianforte today launched: ServeMontana.com, a new website in which individuals may submit their credentials for consideration to serve Montana.

“To address the serious challenges we face, we need good people to step up and help build a better Montana for all Montanans,” Governor-elect Gianforte said. “If you want to help lead Montana’s comeback, change how Helena does business, and enact the mandate Montanans gave us, I’m asking you to serve Montana.”

 

Mandatory wolf trapping classes offered online

News from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks

MONTANA — Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will offer two online wolf trapping certification classes in November. The free online classes are set for 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 21. The classes are identical and trappers must complete only one of them. To register for the classes, please browse to the FWP website at: FWP.MT.GOV and follow the links to “Education” and “Wolf Trapper Education & Certification.”

Because of current COVID-19 restrictions, FWP will offer no in-person classes this fall. The two classes will be online via ZOOM. Students will be sent the ZOOM address for the classes when they register.

 

Library card gives access to ‘Freegal Music’

News from the North Lake County Public Library District

POLSON — Mobile Hotspots are now available for check out. You can check out these mobile hotspots for seven days at a time. You can connect any device (smartphone, laptop, computer) and access the internet wherever there is cell service. You must have a North Lake County Public Library District card. If you don’t have a card, stop in and get one. They’re free. 

The library will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans’ Day. We will reopen on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. 

Freegal Music is a free music service from your library. Freegal is offering streaming 24/7 ad-free through December. All you need is your library card number. You can access Freegal on your computer or download the app from your app store to listen on your tablet or smart phone. 

The library hours during phase two of reopening are: Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. We are also open Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. for the vulnerable population.

 

City manager to address Kiwanis Club

POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursdays of each month at Kwa Taq Nuk Resort and Casino, 49708 US Highway 93, downstairs. Kwa Taq Nuk follows COVID-19 protocols, taking temperatures at entry upstairs and requiring masks and social distancing. Please join us on Thursday, Nov. 19, at noon when our guest speaker will be Ed Meece, Polson’s City Manager. A lunch menu is available for purchase.
