ARLEE — On Sunday afternoon the Arlee community gathered together to congratulate the newest group of Arlee graduates.

The outdoor ceremony proceeded with slightly windy weather that included a brightly shining sun without a cloud in the sky.

The COVID-19 pandemic created an unusual year for the graduates but they battled their way through to graduation.

High school principal Cory Beckham praised this year’s students and staff: “The kids have had tons of energy and the staff has had tons of energy in a time that should be pressing on everybody.”

Beckham continued by saying, “This year’s graduating class has had the most perseverance with the most trying of times (for) their senior year.” He added that the class also seemed to have the most fun. He saw nothing but laughter in the hallways all year long exemplifying the strength of this group of graduates during these difficult times.

The Arlee graduating class of 2021 included valedictorian Isabelle Pape, salutatorian Colton Crawford, Halle Bleu Adams, Mia Marie Arlee, Demertrix Xavier Austin, Amaru Nesta Bennett, Tyler Matthew Brown, Leiloni Diasha Butler, Noah Adam Coulson, Xavier Drake DeFrance, Nathanial Sampson Fowler Jr., Shannon Sierra Haworth, Skyler Michael Hubbard, Micah Daniel Johnson, Latasha Shaunte-Marie Matt, Aaliyah Lynn Maxine McCrea, Sage Sonneah Nicolai, Samual Alexander Phillips, Joseph N’cicn Plant, Grayson Clarence Yancy Roan Jr., Sara Mae Schall, and Thomas Murray Tanner.
