For the second year in a row, the Polson girls brought home the state championship for golf. The Class A State High School Golf Tournament was held over the weekend at the Old Works Golf Course in Anaconda.
Team rounds of 356 and 366 gave the Lady Pirates a 722 total, 57 strokes ahead of second place Laurel.
Four PHS girls finished in the top eight, led by Jaylin Kenney with 170 for 36 holes for third place; Nicole Clairmont, sixth with 162; Anna DiGiallonardo, seventh with 183, and Peyton Anderson, eighth, 187.
For the boys, Hayden Congden finished 14th with 163, and Ryan Thurman scored 191.
