ARLEE — Activities are picking up for the fall and winter at the Arlee Senior Citizens Center. A silent auction is scheduled to begin Nov. 24, during the Saturday evening meal. Members are asked to bring to the center over the next week, new or lightly used items for auction labeling and set-up. New items of footwear, a new rice cooker, and a variety of appliances and baskets for Christmas are already in the line-up. Donations from the community would be most welcome.
On Nov. 24 we are planning an evening of bingo games. Everyone is invited to the 6 p.m. Saturday evening dinner and to enjoy an hour or so of bingo following the meal. We usually begin play by 6:30 p.m. If the interest and turnout is good, we’ll continue on the second and fourth Saturday evenings following the dinner. It takes 12-15 people playing to make a lively evening. You might just win the jackpot.
The center needs three new volunteers to serve on the board of directors. Meetings are 11 a.m. the first Monday of each month.
Our thanks to the back-up cooks for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 14.
