DIXON — December is upon us; how quickly it came this year. There are many activities to enjoy this time of year; I just hope we can get transportation to enjoy some of them. One social event will be the Dixon Senior Center annual Christmas party after lunch, about 1 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 13. Bring a wrapped gift (under $10), marked for a man, a woman, or either one. This is always a fun time. We will also have a Chinese auction (write down a bid) for Christmas goodies, (to help with your baking, or just enjoy). Bring a container of favorite treats and go home with an assortment. We hope to see you there.
It was good to see former Dixon citizen, Lila Krantz, sharing dinner at the center last week. I also met up with her when she was out to dinner with our Dixon preschool director, Lynette Vance.
Remember, you can take home a dinner, or bring one to a friend, from our Dixon Senior Center. Meals are at 5 p.m. on Mondays and noon on Thursdays. All ages are welcome, and the food is yummy.
Menu:
Thursday, Dec. 6: cabbage patch stew
Monday, Dec. 10: baked chicken
Thursday, Dec. 13: stuffed tortillas with refried beans
Monday, Dec. 17: chicken potpie
Thursday, Dec. 20: turkey dinner, a real favorite
I do enjoy seeing Christmas decorations as I drive around. If you’re coming this way, check out the Hill’s display of lights and figures just west of the Ravalli Bridge, on Highway 200 towards Dixon. I have to replace a set of lights left all summer on the outdoor tree. It tangled with a mower.
Enjoy the season.
