Rick Dale Meidinger

POLSON — Rick Dale Meidinger was born on Aug. 17, 1957 in Ronan and passed away in Polson on Aug. 26, 2012. He is survived by his wife Carol, of whom he shared his life for 32 years; two daughters, Ashley and husband Matt Larson of Kirkland, Wash. and Kdee and husband Eric Pratum of Redmond, Wash., and one grandchild Parker Dale Larson. He is also survived his brother Randy Meidinger (Michelle); sisters Debra Wolverton (Laramie) and Kim Lehl (Jim); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends.

Upon graduation Rick joined the Coast Guard. Later he worked as a surveyor’s assistant, transferred to the Forestry Department, and completed his career at Mission Valley Power. He made it his priority to know the 2,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines for the benefit of the company, the customers, and crews of Mission Valley Power. Rick expected a lot out of his crews but nothing he hadn’t done or wouldn’t do himself. He was hardworking, dedicated and admired by all. Rick loved spending time with his family and friends. He and Carol spent countless hours exploring on their ATV, scuba diving, traveling, and enjoying lake time with family and friends. Other activities he enjoyed included hiking, hunting, and sports of all kinds. He was a talented metal worker and built many beautiful things over the years from trailers to furniture. Everyone knew Rick always had a project in the works. He was the go to guy if you needed a helping hand or a creative solution.

His parents Dale and Vi Meidinger and his in-laws Robert and Dorothy Gibson precede him in death. Rick was a loving husband, wonderful father, doting grandfather, and loyal friend. He left his family a legacy of love, integrity, and respect. Rick will be forever cherished in our hearts and never forgotten.
