Erma Sophie Matt
BIG ARM — Erma Sophie Matt, 84, of Big Arm passed away at her home on May 16.
She was born on May 30, 1926, in Polson to Mary Finley and Art Marengo. At age 3, she was adopted by Cecille Stasso and Phillip Kallowat.
In July of 1946, Sophie married Joseph Matt, and they had four children: Randall, Barbara, Dean, and Rik.
She is preceded in death by both sets of parents, husband Joe, sons Randall, Dean, and Rik; daughter Barbara Matt Clark; James Kallowat; brothers Howard Kallowat Sr. and Howdy Saloway and many aunts and uncles. Sophie is survived by her grandson, Robert Clark of Kalispell; a sister, Ruby Finley of Wellpinit, Wash.; aunts Mary Stasso and Louise Stasso of Arlee and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
