ARLEE — Errors plagued the Arlee Warriors all night during their 14-58 loss to the Lincoln Lynx last Friday.
“We do well at times,” Head Coach Mike Rogers said. “We have two or three good plays and then 9 or 10 turnovers. We need to switch that around.”
Early in the first quarter, both teams were tied 8-8 until Lincoln scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion to make the score 8-16 with 8:43 left in the first quarter. From there Lincoln went on a scoring streak. The Lynx converted on several Arlee errors including a blocked punt Lincoln recovered and ran in for the touchdown, making the score 8-30. The halftime score was 8-44.
In the third quarter, the Lynx’s Justin Eiskant scored a touchdown, followed by a two-point conversion by Jerum AuClaire. Then the Lynx scored again to make the score 8-58 to end the third.
With 6:43 left in the fourth quarter, Christian Haynes scored Arlee’s second touchdown of the game. The Warriors were unable to score the two extra points and the game ended 14-58.
“Lincoln is a good ball club,” Rogers said. “We have a lot to work on next week.”
Rogers said he is looking forward to the return of Senior Brady Potts, who recently returned from basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. On Friday the Warriors face Phillipsburg in the Homecoming matchup.
