Obituary

Violet Alice (Roylance) Perry

Our precious and devoted Mother and Grandmother returned to her heavenly home with family by her side on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.

She was born on January 24, 1925 in Inkom, Idaho, to Horace and Minnie Roylance. In 1929 she moved from Idaho to Charlo, Mont. with her parents and siblings: Albert, Norma, Amy and Vernon. Charlo is where she attended school. In her youth she enjoyed her family, her animals and her social activities. She especially enjoyed the community club dances. Violet married a Charlo resident, Warren Perry, on December 22, 1945. She and Warren were sealed for all time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 28, 1952.

Violet was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, where she served in many callings.

Violet and Warren raised their six children on a farm west of Charlo. She had a very strong work ethic. Violet’s family was the light of her life. She enjoyed watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. At these events, she was often recognized by her grandchildren giving her a hug in the audience while they were being introduced in a starting lineup. She also enjoyed painting, embroidery, quilting and her many beloved pets.

Outside of the farm, Violet also worked in the Charlo hot lunchroom where she was every child’s Grandma, and had many friends in her colleagues.

Violet was a very kind and gentle soul. She was a very loved woman, not only by her family, but by the community and her fellow church members.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Perry, her siblings, grandson Seth and great-grandson Seth Michael. She is survived by her children: W. Steve Perry (Berty), Susan Perry, Stan Perry (Cindy), Scott Perry (Janet), Shawn Perry (Diane), Sheri Perry and her honorary daughter Carole Perry. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stephanie, Shalome, Steve, Shane, Sabrina, Stan, Sam, Spencer, Skyler, Stacy, Sterling, Stuart, Shianne and Tristan; 45 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Millpond Assisted Living, Lake County Home Health and Hospice and the St. Luke Community Network for all of their love.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ of Latterday Saints in Ronan.
