PABLO — Fiddlers, guitar and accordian players and singers gathered at the Johnny Arlee/Vic Charlo Theatre on Salish Kootenai College Campus on Feb. 12.

Today’s “just a jam because we didn’t have anything going on in February,” Reg Wearley, Big Arm fiddle player said.

Beginning at 2 p.m. musicians and singers took turns playing and singing old tunes such as “Just Because,” “New Moon,” “Colorado Waltz,” and “Mean Woman Blues,” backed up by the others.

Audience members danced to the music, which went on until 5:30 p.m.

“We usually try to make it (a jam) once a month,” guitar play and singer Ken Kenmille said, adding that musicians from Missoula, Columbia Falls and Kalispell joined Mission Valley residents at the event.

The second Sunday of March and April — March 13 and April 10 — the Old Time Fiddlers and friends will be playing at the Idle Spur in Dayton from 2 to 5:30 p.m., and they invite folks to come listen and dance.
