ST. IGNATIUS — Lake County Conservation District will sponsor a workshop for owners of small acreages. The workshop will be held May10 at the Mission Valley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and will begin promptly at 8 a.m. There will be donuts, fruit and coffee when you arrive and a drawing for door prizes during lunch. The cost of the workshop per property/ attendee will be $15, which covers the cost of food and materials. Interested landowners must sign-up by May 10. To register, call Chris at the Lake County Conservation District, (406) 676-2842, extension 102, or e-mail her at: cmalgren@ronan.net.

The time to start thinking about how best to manage and improve your property, whether you own one acre or 100 acres is now. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about trees and plants that grow well in the Flathead Valley; how best to protect your home from fire; how to deal with insects and other pests; how to control noxious weeds; how to maintain your pasture; and when you might need a 310 permit to make changes on your property. So you can enjoy your weekend, we’ve packed a lot of information into a short period of time. There’ll be speakers from the Lake County Conservation District, US Department of Agriculture, Lake County Weed Control, CSKT Wildlife, CSKT Forestry, and a local nursery, and we should be wrapping things up by 3 p.m., which will give you plenty of time to get out and enjoy the rest of your Saturday.
