CHARLO — Standout Charlo track athlete Dawn Blevins will trade in her Viking jersey for a Bobcat uniform this fall. Blevins signed with the Montana State University track and field team last week and will continue her career as a javelin-thrower in Bozeman.

Blevins took third in the 2012 state Class C Championships with a throw of 123-01 and was named the girls’ field athlete MVP for all classes at the Missoula County meet. She was also a four-year member of the honor roll and was named Academic All-State for three years. She earned 12 letters total during her time at Charlo High School, with four letters each in volleyball, basketball and track and field.

“Dawn really possesses a lot of raw talent,” MSU track and field assistant coach Mike Carignan said. “Her experience and training here should really develop those talents quickly, and we look forward to her potential.”

The Bobcat track and field team had four individual Big Sky Championship titles and nine top-three finishes in 2012.
