Justice of the Peace Chuck Wall dealt with the following cases Nov. 11-25:

Eugene Bryce Hammond, 30, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license, expired more than 180 days, second offense. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all suspended, and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs.

Donald Ray Stroup, 48, pleaded guilty to operating with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent BAC or greater, first offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 10 days in jail with five suspended and credited for five days already served. Stroup was also fined $300 plus $85 in court costs. 

Stroup also pleaded guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect, first offense. He was found guilty and sentenced to 10 days in jail with all suspended, and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs.

Jennifer M. Washtak, 30, pleaded not guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect, first offense. She was found guilty and fined $150 plus $35 in court costs.

Joseph Anthony McCarthy, 21, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. He was found guilty and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 suspended, and fined $100 plus $35 in court costs.

McCarthy also pleaded guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs (marijuana, less than 60 grams), first offense. He was found guilty and was fined $100 plus $85 in court costs. 

Additionally, McCarthy pleaded guilty to criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. He was found guilty and fined an additional $100 plus $85 in court costs.

Jessica Jean Alexander, 31, pleaded guilty to failing to carry proof of insurance, second offense. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail with eight days suspended. Jail time will be waived if she can provide proof of six months continuous insurance from May 12, 2010.

Alexander was also fined $350 plus $35 in court costs.
