POLSON — I see that some of our snowbirds have returned and are looking like they wintered pretty well. We are glad to have you home again. If any of you are interested in cards, we have bridge on Tuesdays and Fridays and pinochle on Thursdays. They both start at 12:30 p.m. and we would like to see if there are any cribbage players out there also. Call the center at (406) 883-4735 and we’ll get you a spot at a table.

It’s garden planting time, so to all of you gardeners out there, if you have the room, please plant a row of fruits or vegetables for donating to the Polson Senior Center nutrition program. We love nothing more than receiving fresh, locally grown produce and Kelli will work her magic and whip up a wonderful salad. We thank you in advance, for your generosity.

I hope all of you senior golfers are signing up for the Senior Golf Tournament sponsored by Farmers Insurance. It will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19. For more information contact the Pro Shop at (406) 883-8230, Tracy Dooley at (406) 883-0900 or go on line to www.polsonbaygolf.com. All proceeds benefit our Senior Center. Remember, we are “Seniors Helping Seniors”.

I know this is a little late, but we thank all of you who had your taxes done by our AARP tax preparers. We hope to see you all again next year. To Kaye Stam and Tom Farrell, thank you for your dedication and volunteering each year to help so many people. It is greatly appreciated by all.

Considering the warm, wonderful sunshine we’ve had, I think summer is really trying to begin. Keep thinking sunshine.

I hope all mothers had a very nice Mother’s Day.

Bridge scores for May 3 were Win Baer first and Ruth Baer second and on May 7 Doris Gorsuch was first and Paul Doolittle was second. No pinochle again this week.

 Menu May 16-22:

• Thursday, May 16: roast pork

• Friday, May 17: barbecue ribs

• Monday, May 20: hamburger gravy

• Tuesday, May 21: potato soup and tuna salad

• Wednesday, May 22: hamburger steak
