Old Glory was flying high throughout Lake County on Memorial Day.
In Arlee, the Mission Valley Honor Guard visited three cemeteries in Arlee Monday morning, paying honor to warriors who gave their life for America.
Parades traveled down Main Street in both Polson and Ronan.
The VFW, American Legion, Auxiliaries and the Marine Corps League ended Ronan’s parade with a service and wreath placed on the Gold Star Memorial at the park.
Medal of Honor recipient Laverne Parrish’s gravestone was also honored with a service in Ronan’s cemetery.
Polson’s parade was well-attended as military vehicles, motorcycles, Search and Rescue horsemen and emergency vehicles joined those who marched the parade route.
A brief ceremony was held on Main Street, and another atop the hill at Lakeview Cemetery.
In line with tradition, the cemetery was surrounded by American flags standing guard around the veteran’s gravesites.
