RONAN — Hundreds of runners and walkers showed up en masse last weekend as Ronan hosted a Lake County 4-H 5K run, breaking the ice of a chilly winter and spring while driving the running and walking enthusiasts outdoors once more. One runner, Polson resident Greg Collins, said he had just finished a series of runs in Sudan during the winter and was excited to get out of the house and keep running. “The last time I ran it was 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside, and I ran a 5K in 26 minutes,” he said. “I’m hoping to break that time today.” The run started at Ronan’s Community Bank. The route encompassed First Avenue Southwest and Round Butte Road. Proceeds from the run will help send 4H participants to camps.
