Mission Valley Mariners headed to the John Harp Tournament Friday and were hosted by the A Kalispell Lakers. The M’s faced off against teams from Montana and Washington as well as Canadian teams from Alberta and British Columbia.

Mariners started the tournament right with explosive bats, proving to the Edmonton Cardinals that they will not lie silent at the plate.

There was nothing the Cardinals could do to stop the hitting fury. The M’s put up six runs in the first inning and kept them coming to hold the lead.  The entire starting Mariner lineup put up a hit with 18 hits total for the game. Jeremiah Crawford had the stands on their feet going 3-3 with two doubles and a three run home run, logging a team leading five RBI’s.  TJ Olson also owned the plate with a deep center home run and three RBIs of his own.

Zeke Webster-Yaqui threw all six innings on the mound, picking up the win. Webster-Yaqui hurled four strikeouts, walked two and only allowed one earned run.

The M’s captured game one in six innings on the ten run mercy rule. (Any team up ten runs after five innings receives the win.)

Mission Valley put another ten run game in five innings on the board against the Vauxhall Spurs on Saturday, with a score of 14-3.  Mariners put up four runs in the first and scored in every inning thereafter.

Kellen Hoyt was throwing flame from the mound, logging an impressive ten strikeouts and only allowing three walks and one earned run.

Alex Killian did his trot around the bases after knocking one over the left field wall for a two run home run. Ryan Pablo, TJ Olson, and Brennan Andrews also joined the two RBI club for the game.

The M’s, once again, grabbed the win by way of the 10 run mercy rule.  Asotin County Blues could not keep the Mariners from scoring in the 12–2 contest. Mariners put up eleven of those runs in the first three innings.

Ryan Pablo earned the win going the first four innings on the bump. Pablo allowed one earned run, walked one, and struck out one. Chris Drebes took over in the fifth and closed shop for the Mariners.

Bradley Pichler lit up the plate going a perfect 4 -4 with a double and two RBI’s. Jeremiah Crawford also had a helping hand with four RBI’s.

The Mariners broke out with an explosion in the championship game against the FT Macleod Royals.  After the Royals put up a run in the first, The M’s came back to score sixteen runs on sixteen hits in the next four, ending in a final 16-3 first place win, again in five innings.

Ryan Pablo had a great day going 3-4 and pushing three over home plate.  Jeremiah Crawford brought home an impressive four runs and Quinn Harlan went 2-2 with a pair of RBI’s.

Jeremiah Crawford grabbed the win with four innings on the mound. Crawford struck out two and allowed three walks. Chris Drebes finished up the final inning, allowing no runs.

This is the last invitational tournament for the Mariners of the season, bringing them to three first place finishes and one third place finish. The M’s will finish up their regular season play with eight conference games scheduled for this week and then continue on to the District Tournament on the 25th in Eureka. At District, the M’s will be playing for a first or second place win to seal their spot at the State Tournament held in Helena, August 1-5.
