ST. IGNATIUS — Eleven-year-old Bronco Branson had a Christmas wish come true through the kind act of a St. Ignatius teacher.
On Dec. 17, a few weeks before Christmas last year, Branson had someone break into his family’s home and steal his television. The boy and his family hoped that if he shared his story whoever broke into his home would return it.
Branson had received the brand-new 32-inch flatscreen Vizio television for his birthday in October from his parents.
“His dad felt so bad, and (Bronco) was very sad,” grandmother Dottie Cates said shortly after the theft.
But today Branson has a lot to smile about.
His television was never returned, but he received the next best thing: another television.
This time the present came courtesy of paraprofessional Alleacia Landon, who works at St. Ignatius Elementary.
“I am very thankful and appreciative,” Branson said, adding that he likes to play video games on his new television.
“It was very nice of her,” said Branson’s grandmother Arles Hendrickson. “It’s good to know there’s still good people out there.”
