ARLEE — Members of the Killdeer Artisans Guild announce their new show, Harvest, with paintings, sculpture, photography, and other media by member artists. An opening reception for the artists will be held Saturday, Aug. 31 from 2 to 4 p.m., free and open to the public.

Featured artist for this show, Ross McRae, expresses his keen observations of life in rural Montana in his diverse artworks. A mostly self-taught artist, McRae works in oils, watercolor, pen and ink, graphite and metal to create narrative artworks that explore an evolving theme, “Traditions in Transition.”

At 3 p.m., there will be a discussion about the largest of McRae’s paintings in the show, “Lobo Express,” facilitated by Julie Cajune, nationally acclaimed educator, executive director for the Center for American Indian Applied Research, curriculum developer, and playwright. McRae will be available to speak about his work, and to answer questions.

Also included in this show is a fresh collection of sculptures, paintings, multi-media assemblages, photography, and traditional Native handcrafts by a variety of regional artists, including Jerry McGahan, Danny Kraus, Crystal Kingston, Jeneese Hilton, Joan Mason and others.

The show remains on display until Oct. 19. Hangin Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For further information, call the Gallery at (406) 726-5005 or Joe Weydt at (406) 726-3335.
