FRENCHTOWN – Chiefs and Maidens competed in the Frenchtown meet on Wednesday with the Maidens taking third with an overall score of 93.

Ronan had three Maidens in the top 20 with Kianna Howell (22:20) taking eleventh and teammate Angela North Piegan (22:20) right behind in twelfth. Jade Gray (22:45) finished at 16.

Coach Noelle Decker is pleased with the girls’ improvements and also with the seniors stepping up.

“The leadership of our senior girls is and will be instrumental in the success in this team,” Decker said. “They are pushing their teammates each week at practice with some very specific goals in mind by the time state rolls around.”

Although none of the Chiefs broke into the top 20, Decker also noted the leadership of senior boys as well as strong freshman coming in.

Chiefs have been led each week by freshman runner Jackson Duffey, and with the addition of Jerimiah North Piegan and Daniel Koehler, Coach Decker has high hopes for their future. “They will be important in determining how successful this young team can do at state,” she said.

Seniors JT Probst and Jarred Dupuis along with junior Rhett Duffey have left quite an impression. “They are great kids,” Decker said, “the kind that each coach hopes to have as leaders on their team.”

After 10 days rest the Chiefs and Maidens are hoping to put up some
