News from Polson’s Loaves and Fish Food Pantry
POLSON — The Town Pump Foundation’s yearly fall “Match Program” to assist Montana Food Pantry’s fund raising efforts is underway. All monetary donations made between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30 will be matched with Town Pump dollars up to allocated limits.
For Polson’s Loaves and Fish Food Pantry, donations up to $8,000 will be matched. This is Polson Food Pantry’s major fundraising initiative, which helps pay for operating costs as well as the purchase of important food items not available through the Montana Food Bank Network.
The need for food assistance continues to grow in our Polson community as many families have only part time jobs, are unemployed without benefits and/or have stressed fixed income situations while food prices continue to rise. Week-in and week-out our Polson Food Pantry continues to register new clients in need of supplemental or emergency food assistance. The pantry assists more than 450 families each month.
You can help your community neighbors with a helping hand by making a donation to Polson Loaves and Fish Food Pantry at 904 1st Street East, Polson, MT 59860. Please consider making your donation while Town Pump “Match $’s” are available to effectively double your donation.
The food pantry is also in need of reliable and committed volunteers to serve clients during our Tuesday (2 to 6 p.m.) and Friday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) client service days. Serving others is a wonderful way to give back to this great community. Please call (406) 883-6864 for more information.
