ST. IGNATIUS – The Bulldogs (3-14) and the Lady Bulldogs (4-14) wound down their seasons with well-played games at home and on the road.

The Mission boys hosted Troy Feb. 11, falling by one point, 48-47, in the final two seconds of the game. Troy’s Creede Garcia went 1-1 from the free throw line in the final moments to inch past the Bulldogs. The loss marked the Bulldogs’ final home game of the season as Stuart Grant led the team with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Teammate Nikko Alexander dropped in 10, while Cory Orr led the Trojans with 17 points.

On Feb. 6, Alexander led the Bulldog march as Mission swept past Ronan 69-49.

The Bulldogs were ahead from the start 9-4 when Alexander connected with Grant, breaking the Chiefs’ press.

In the waning moments of the first quarter, Paden Alexander sank a 3-pointer and Grant drove in scoring two more to enter the second quarter 11-17. Jarred Smith-Brown sealed the Mission lead with a layup at the half, 24-35. In the second half of the game, an offensive and defensive surge from Ronan, caused Mission to call a timeout at 35-49.

But three Bulldogs scored double figures including, Grant with 14 points, Brown sinking 11 and Paden adding 10. Ronan’s Chris Clary scored 15 to lead the Chiefs.

On the girls’ side, Bryanna Steele’s 16 points lifted the Lady Bulldogs over the Ronan Maidens 48-35 Feb. 9 in Mission. St. Ignatius outscored Ronan every quarter except the fourth, 13-11. Stephanie Lewandowski also scored 11 points. The Bulldogs (4-14) face the Maidens Feb. 14 for the 6-B playoff play-in game.

On Feb. 11, the Lady Bulldogs visited the Lady Vikings of Troy (0-18). Behind 14 points scored by Lewandowski, Mission bounced past Troy 30-27.

Jordan Williams and Breanne Opland added 15 and 10 points respectively for Troy.
