Karen Florence Ridnour

POLSON — Karen Florence Ridnour, age 66, of Polson, passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, after a valiant fight with breast cancer.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1947, in Sheridan, Wyo. to John Kenneth and Vedia Kerr. When she was two years old they moved to Montana where her parents homesteaded. She graduated from Polson High School in 1965.

On May 17, 1965, she married Leonard Ridnour. They made their home in Polson. She worked at Price’s Cafe, Evergreen rest home, and St. Joseph Hospital, where she was known for her good cooking.

Karen was baptized 24 years ago as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She took very serious the privilege of telling people about the hope of paradise. That promise of the paradise brought her much comfort.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and a good friend.

Survivors include her husband Leonard Ridnour of Polson; her three daughters Teresa (Carl) Leuth of Spokane, Wash., Kathy Ridnour of Polson, and Laura Dawn Ridnour of Polson; her son Kenny Bill (Jennifer) Ridnour of Polson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two more on the way. Survivors also include her sister Martha McKenzie of Sheridan, Wyo. and niece Tana Erickson and family of Pablo.

Memorial services will take place Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Highway 93 in Polson with a reception to follow at the Polson Middle School cafeteria. Messages of condolences can be sent to: .groganfuneralhome.com.
