POLSON — A stand-off at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of Fourth Street W. ended with one female victim in the hospital and Michael James Gardipe, 35, and Alisha McDanal, 34, in custody.

Polson Police received a call at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Nov.3 of a possible disturbance involving a firearm.

Officers responded, as did Tribal Law Enforcement and Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, and found a 29-nine-year-old female victim lying outside the apartment complex with severe injuries.

After the victim was transported by ambulance to Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center, officers set up a perimeter line around the building and began evacuating neighboring apartments.

Officers established contact with Gardipe and McDanal through an open window and ordered them out of the apartment, where they were taken into custody.

Guardipe was charged with assault with a weapon, and McDanal was charged with intimidation.

An investigation of the incident is ongoing, according to Clint Cottle, Polson Assistant Police Chief, and other individuals are being questioned.

The victim was later transported to Provident St. Patrick’s Medical Center in Missoula.
