Columbia Falls finished in 1st place in Class A speech sweeps, with Polson second and Whitefish third.

Libby finished in 1st place in Class A drama sweeps; Frenchtown finished in 2nd place.

“Sharidan Russell was unbelievable this weekend.  She really dominated the finals and frankly ran away with her medals.  Haley Kendley also saved her best for finals, and came away as a champion,” said PHS head coach Jon Petersen.

“We are excited about the state meet this weekend.  We have several kids who have the talent to make finals, but the competition is going to be tough,” Petersen added.

The speech team will conclude its season in Hamilton on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the Montana Class A State Speech and Drama meet.

The public is welcome to watch the competition rounds, but cameras and other recording devices are not allowed.
