ST. IGNATIUS – For 30 years, the annual Good Old Days Buffalo Run has drawn runners from all over the country. However, for the first time in anyone’s recollection, the run sponsored by St. Luke Community Healthcare had a runner from Waterloo, Belgium, entered in the 4-mile race. He was Ben Kestner, who joined 150 runners from as far away as Macon, Ga., in the annual event benefiting the St. Ignatius Chamber of Commerce.

Three of this year’s overall winners were repeat champions.

Leila Marsh of St. Ignatius knocked 34 seconds off her winning time from a year ago to finish first in the 1-mile run in 8:44.

Tyler Courville of St. Ignatius, who won the half-marathon in 2011, was the top male finisher in the 7-mile run this year with a time of 41:51. And Amy Pavlock of Missoula, who was the No. 1 4-miler a year ago, won the 7-mile women’s race with a time of 49:22.

The No. 1 runner in the half-marathon was Bryant Jacobs of Missoula with a time of 1:24:50. Susan Matter of Kalispell was the top female half-marathoner with a time of 1:45:01.

Eli Williams of Boise, Idaho, was the first male in the 1-mile run, with a time of 9:19.

In the 4-mile race, the top male runner was Paden Alexander of St. Ignatius with a time of 24:28, and Nicole Brist of Whitefish finished first overall for the females with a time of 28:09.

The St. Ignatius Chamber of Commerce will be receiving a check for $2,384 from St. Luke Community Healthcare as a result of the 30th running of the annual Good Old Days Buffalo Run.
