PABLO — The Two Eagle River Eagles ended the regular season the same way they started: with high flying and high scoring.
Against Arlee on Feb. 9, the Eagles had four players in double digits to soar above the Warriors 59-51. Arlee also had balanced scoring from Josh Reed and Brandon Hergett with 11 each, and Justin Adams with 13. But the trio of Marcus Brown and Skyler Rossbach’s 13 points apiece along with Clayton Malatare’s 10 proved too much in the end.
The Eagles outscored Arlee in all quarters except for the second but made up for it in the third, sinking 19 compared to Arlee’s 11.
On Feb. 11, a day’s rest did not quell the Eagle offensive fire. Malatare had a game-high 19 points, with six 3-pointers, to direct the Eagles past Valley Christian 59-47.
Mendoza and Brown provided backup with 15 and 14 apiece, improving their record to 12-6 in regular play as the season draws to an end.
Valley Christian’s Lane Norberg and Adam Richards scored 16 points each.
