ST. IGNATIUS — The St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center will host an AARP driving education course on Monday, May 12, at 9 a.m. The four-hour course is oriented toward aging drivers but is open to everyone. Montana law mandates an insurance rate discount for those who have taken the course. The class costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Those wishing to sign up for the course may do so by stopping by or calling the center.
More than 50 people attended the evening meal on April 16. Isabelle Seery’s 90th birthday was celebrated during the gathering.
The center is seeking donations for a silent auction. The auction will end during the dinner honoring Mothers Day on Wednesday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m. The income from the auction will go toward the purchase of a new kitchen stove. The recent rummage sale at the center was a success raising several hundred dollars. A bake sale for the same purpose will be held on Friday, May 9.
Bankers Life Insurance Company will conduct an informational session in the center on the evening of Wednesday, May 21. Financial issues and aging will be topics of the session.
The center will provide an additional meal in April because of meals missed due to inclement weather. The make-up meal will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at noon.
Activities at the center for the rest of April:
Bingo is played after almost every lunch.
Lunches begin at noon.
Quilters quilt in the center on Mondays and Thursdays.
Friday, April 25: pasta and burger casserole lunch
• Tuesday, April 29: soup and sandwiches lunch
• Wednesday, April 30: corned beef Reuben lunch
