RONAN — I didn’t get the column into the paper, but I have a good excuse. Sick husband. (Ladies, do I need to say more?)
The new flooring is in and looks great and the pantry looks better than it ever has. It’s amazing what a coat of paint and new flooring will do. We also have all the new signs mounted on the outside of the building and they sure are pretty. Thanks to Dan Roullier for doing such a great job and for putting them up for us. It’s amazing what one young man and a ladder can do, when it was going to take three older men and forklift to get the job done. Again, thanks to all who made it possible, and to all who helped to get the work done.
The birthday dinner is this Friday and we will be having roast beef. As usual, we will serve at noon and the cost of the meal is $4 if you are 60 or older.
Wednesday April 30 is my last day of work as I am going to join the ranks of retired folks. They are so glad to get rid of me that they are giving me a party that day. (They aren’t really getting rid of me; they just won’t have to pay me to hang around here anymore.) The party will be at noon, and they will be serving a great chicken dinner. Come on in and say goodbye to me and hello to my replacement, Andrea Lohf. I have been here at the center for more than 24 years and it will be hard to leave a job that I have enjoyed so much. I will always be grateful for all of the wonderful people that I have met here at the center. Thanks to each and every one of you who has made my work here so enjoyable.
Menu for the rest of the month is:
• Wednesday, April 23: taco soup
• Friday, April 25: roast beef
• Monday, April 28: beef stew
• Wednesday, April 30: chicken (menu says chicken noodle casserole)
