POLSON — The “Oil and Gas Revolution: The What, the Why … and the Factoid Factor” will be the topic at the Friday, April 25 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderms beginning at noon at the Polson Rural Fire Department building on Regatta Road near the fairgrounds. Dr. Bill Whitsitt, a former energy company executive and industry association leader, will be the guest speaker. He is expected to discuss the economic impact of the Bakken oil fields both for Montana and the nation.
Whitsitt currently provides business and public policy insights and advice. Whitsitt speaks and teaches widely following a career in public and private sectors, including positions in government, energy marketing, public affairs and broadcast media.
Until mid-2013 Whitsitt was the executive vice president for public affairs at Devon Energy Corporation of Oklahoma City. Devon Energy Corporation is a leader in the development of America’s abundant oil and natural gas resources found in shale formations throughout North America.
