St. Ignatius Senior Center to hold silent auction

ST. IGNATUIS — The St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center’s will hold a silent auction featuring certificates donated by merchants, a framed scenic photo of the Mission Mountains and various other items, on Wednesday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m. The auction will be held during the Mothers Day dinner honoring mothers. The center is accepting donated items for the auction. 

The center will host an AARP driving education course on Monday, May 12, at 9 a.m. The four-hour course is oriented toward aging drivers but is open to everyone. Montana law mandates discounts on insurance rate for those who have taken the course. The class costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Those wishing to sign up for the class may do so by stopping by or calling the center.

Bankers Life Insurance Company will conduct an informational session in the center on the evening of Wednesday, May 21. Financial issues and aging will be topics of the session. 

The center will provide an additional meal in April because of meals missed due to inclement weather. The make-up meal will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at noon. 

Activities at the center for May: 

Bingo is played after almost every lunch. 

Lunches begin at noon. 

Quilters quilt in the center on Mondays and Thursdays.
