RONAN — Welcome to May. Hopefully the weather will stay as nice as it is today. Took the four-wheelers out for the first trip of the year and saw a lot of beautiful country. No matter where you view them from, the Mission Mountains are fantastic to look at.

Thanks to the center for the wonderful retirement party last Wednesday and to all the people who attended. The center has supported me 100 percent during all of the years that I have worked here and I know that they will continue to do the same for Andrea. If you don’t visit your local center, you are missing out on meeting and knowing a lot of wonderful, caring people.

This Thursday, May 8, is our pork roast dinner. We start serving at 5 p.m. and the cost is only $5 per person. You don’t have to be a senior or a member to join us for any of our meals. We will be more than happy to have you join us. Try it you might like it.

The following Thursday, May 15 is the day of the AARP Safe Driving Course. We still have room, so give us a call at (406) 676-2371, if you want to sign up for it.

Cards will be played here at the Ronan Center on May 19, at 7 p.m. The Foot Clinic will be here on Wednesday, May 21, from 10 a.m. until noon. Call us if you want your name on the list. There are no appointments, as it is on a “first come, first served” basis.

The menu is as follows:

Wednesday, May 7: ham and noodle casserole

Thursday, May 8: pork roast

Friday, May 9: potato bar

Monday, May 12: chicken enchiladas

Wednesday, May 14: barbecue ribs

Friday, May 16: tater tot casserole.

We serve meals at noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost of these meals is only $4 if you are 60 or older and $5 if you are younger.

Besides the meals served at the center and those home delivered, we offer a variety of other programs. Please feel free to come in and find out what we have to offer.

I just heard about a new government study. They spent $2,000,000 to find out that over-weight women live longer than the men that mention it to them.

Have a great week and stay out of trouble.
