Polson and Ronan compete at A.R.M.

WHITEFISH — Lady Pirates and Chiefs found themselves with athletes in the top four on Saturday at the Whitefish hosted A.R.M. track and field meet. Overall the Lady Pirates placed seventh out of the 14 teams participating with a team score of 31.33. The Chiefs placed 10th out of 16 with a team score of 10 and the Pirates came in with a team score of 7 putting them in 13th.

Chief Lucas Gerhardt was the lone first placer out of the two teams, taking first in shot put with a 50-6.5. Pirate Jared Rubel placed fourth in the pole vault.

Polson’s Claudia Hewston placed second in the 800 meter while teammates Mariah Corrigan took third in javelin and Kidron Lee grabbed third in the high jump. The Lady Pirate relay teams took third in the 400m and fourth in the 1,600 relays.

After both teams compete at the Polson-hosted Lake County Invitational Tuesday, Polson will head to Kalispell for the Archie Roe Invitational and Ronan will be in Missoula, both on May 10.
