POLSON — Steve Daines, Montana’s lone representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, will be in Polson, Saturday, May 17. He will be speaking on issues of interest and importance to citizens of Lake County and Montana at a brunch being organized by the Lake County Republican Women to be held at Polson’s VFW Post 2986 at 423 Main Street.
Daines will be available to meet with constituents beginning at 10 a.m. Candidates for other elected offices have also been invited to attend so that they may meet one-on-one with voters and answer questions.
Since May 17 is also Armed Forces Day, veterans representing all four service groups will make up a special Color Guard for the occasion.
Three outstanding Polson High School seniors will also be honored. Sharidan Russell was one of two Montana students to be selected for the United States Senate Youth Program. Tel Motichka and Cash Sisler have both been accepted to U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and both were nominated by Congressman Daines. Motichka was also selected for the Navy Academy in Annapolis.
“It’s a special honor to have Montana’s only Congressman come to our community,” said LCRW President Susan Lake. “We hope people will take this opportunity to meet with Rep. Daines and hear what he has to say about issues that concern us.”
The “Made in Montana” brunch will be served at approximately 11 a.m. and will feature locally grown food. For tickets call Kathi at (406) 883-3826, Penny at (406) 883-2248, or Susan at (406) 676-4297.
