RONAN — A luau atmosphere complete with leis, music and a whole roast pig is planned for this year’s Tana Bockman Memorial Golf for Griz Tournament in Ronan. Area golfers will play with University of Montana coaches and staff in the annual scramble and barbecue. Last minute signup for the event is being accepted at the Mission Mountain Golf Course through Thursday, May 15. The tourney will be held on Friday, May 16. The four-person, 18-hole co-ed tourney will tee off with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Individual golfers without a team will be placed one.

All proceeds from the tournament go toward scholarships for U of M Grizzly student athletes. The event is sponsored by the Mission Mountain Chapter of the University of Montana Scholarship Association.

The fee for tournament golfers will be $80 ($70 for MMC pass holders). That fee will cover the golf and cart, the barbecue and door prizes. Barbecue only tickets will cost $25. For more information, call GSA Chapter President Mack McConnell (406) 745-4151, cell (406) 552-2525. Make checks out to Mission Mountain GSA. Entries may also be picked up and dropped off at the golf course clubhouse.
