Kristal Richards, MN, RN, CNL, daughter of Rodney and Sharon Hanson of Polson, receives the Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary’s Award for Nursing Excellence. This is one of the highest honors given to a VA nurse. She was honored with the Special Contribution Award for her “dedication in improving and delivering care to Veterans and by developing, implementing and monitoring the practices and policies that has made the VA one of the world’s foremost authorities in patient safety.”
