News from Lake County Job Service, Polson

POLSON — The Lake County Job Service Employers’ Committee awarded two Ken Rohrenbach Scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000, to graduating seniors from Lake County.

Monica Cleveland and Alisha Jore, both from Polson High School, were selected as the 2014 recipients. Cleveland plans to continue her education at the University of Great Falls where she will study criminal psychology. Once she finishes her studies, she intends to move back to Polson and hopes to make a difference in her community. Jore’s goal is to attend the University of Montana to study Health Science. She has always been concerned with the well-being of others and looks forward helping as many people as possible. To qualify for this scholarship, Cleveland and Jore submitted essays that described their life experiences and how they might impact their futures.

The JSEC Committee feels that Cleveland and Jore are the perfect scholarship recipients as they exemplify the desired qualifications including community involvement, determination, and overcoming adversity. Both were nominated for the $500 statewide Montana State Employers Council and the Fred Unmack Scholarship. Jore was selected as the recipient for the Fred Unmack Scholarship award. JSEC congratulates both graduates and wishes them best of luck in their future endeavors.
