POLSON

Little known fact: Mahatma Gandhi did a lot of walking, often without shoes. He had serious calluses on his feet. Because of his meager diet he was quite frail and it contributed to his bad breath. He was, wait for it, a super-callused fragile mystic hexed with halitosis.

There’s nothing meager about the meals served here every day, Monday thru Friday from 11:45 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. All the meals come with a vegetable and a dessert.

Menu:

•  Thursday, May 29: Polish dogs with pickles, onion and relish

•  Friday, May 30: birthday lunch featuring roast beef and whipped potatoes.

•  Monday, June 2: cheeseburgers with tater tots

•  Tuesday, June 3: pork cutlets with rice

•  Wednesday, June 4: spaghetti, garlic bread

Bingo is played Friday night with games beginning at 7 p.m. Volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

Three people have answered our plea for volunteers to help deliver meals. Thank you to Mike Melugin, Ken Smith and Jane Holland.

Thanks to those who are dropping off their aluminum cans at the center. Every little bit helps. Don’t know what I’ll do with the plastic bottles though. I know; I’ll drop them at the recycling bins.

Every wonder why the third hand on the clock is called the second hand?

Have a good week.
