GREAT FALLS – The Lady Bulldogs tried with their might to advance at the State tournament in Great Falls Thursday and Friday, but ultimately fell 1-2 over the course of the first two days of the three-day tournament.
Thursday, MAC faced a 0-10 shut out brought on by the Conrad Cowgirls in the tourney opener. Despite crafty pitching throughout the first four innings of play by Lady Bulldog Courtney Charlo, the Cowgirls found their groove in the fifth inning and put up seven runs. MAC struggled at the plate, only gaining three base runners throughout the seven innings. Jordyn Eichert logged the only hit for MAC.
Against Huntley Project on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs fared better, grabbing the 6-2 win. Charlo allowed only three hits from the circle to come up with the win for MAC. Charlo, Jordyn Eichert, and Shania Dubois all went 2-3 while Morgan Malatare added two RBIs.
In the loser out, game three against Glasgow, the Lady Bulldogs sealed their demise by falling 10-12 to the Scottie Girls. Catcher Alyssa Doty will finish up her high school softball career with a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a double and a pair of RBIs while Courtney Charlo can add a long two-run homerun to her stats. Charlo added three RBIs for the game.
The Lady Bulldogs finish their season with a winning 19-9 record.
