POLSON — Cliff Daniels, 62, from Rathdrum, Idaho, died Saturday morning when his ultralight style aircraft crashed into the Flathead River RV Park.
The wreck happened at about 7:15 a.m. Police responded within minutes, according to Polson Police Chief Wade Nash, but Daniels did not survive the crash.
No one else was hurt in the wreck.
The ultralight was a Northwing Apache Sport, a single occupant plane, and Daniels had been flying around the Polson area for the last few days.
What typically happens in an aircraft incident, Nash said, is that police notify the Federal Aviation Administration. An inspector from Helena came to check the wreckage.
